A1 Team Switzerland’s fastest time from the A1GP Zandvoort qualifying sessions has been disallowed after post-qualifying scrutineering checks confirmed the Swiss car ran throughout the afternoon with one rear anti-roll bar canister instead of the required two.
When questioned by the Stewards of the meeting, the team confirmed the omission was the result of an oversight and did not entail any performance gain.
While the Stewards accepted the team did not gain any increase in performance, it was decided to disallow the team’s fastest time from the earlier qualifying sessions to enforce the importance of conforming to technical regulations.
As a result of this decision, A1 Team Switzerland will start tomorrow’s Sprint Race from 11th on the grid.
